For families

You are not alone

Caring for a child with a disability can be exhausting and lonely, especially for mothers raising children on their own. Your child's disability is not your fault, and you don't have to carry it by yourself.

How we stand with parents

Support that starts with listening

01

Someone to talk to

Feeling worn out, worried or judged? Call or message us. Our project manager, Helina, is trained in trauma healing and psychosocial support, and our team understands what you're going through.

02

An assessment for your child

Bring your child to us and we'll look at their needs together. If we can help and have space, we'll offer a place. If not, we'll add them to our waiting list or point you to other services in Bahir Dar.

03

Time to work and rest

While your child is with us for the day, you can work, rest or care for your other children, knowing they're safe and in good hands.

Your child is not a punishment.
Your child is a gift.

Some people still say a disabled child is God's punishment for a parent's sins. It isn't true. Disability can come from a hard birth, an illness, or the way a child's brain developed. It is nobody's fault.
